This first publication in the Conference Documents series of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at Universidad del Pacífico addresses the master lecture by one of China’s leading economists, Professor Zhang Jun, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Economics and Director of the China Center for Economic Studies at Fudan University, considered among the best universities in the country. Professor Zhang Jun was also the keynote speaker at the International Symposium on “The Transformation of the Chinese Economy: Four Decades of Reform and Internationalization and What Comes Next?” organized by our Center, in the Juan Julio Wicht Auditorium of Universidad del Pacífico, on August 20, 2019. The results of four decades of economic reforms and openness in China, the nature of its economic development based on structural change and the sources of productivity growth in that economy are all analyzed. Likewise, the current potential of China’s growth and the promising future transformations are examined in detail.
