CECHAP participates in the I Latin American Forum on the Modern Mobilization of the Global South
José Carlos Feliciano Nishikawa, Associate Director of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies, participated in the I Latin American Forum on the Modern Mobilization of the Global South: Co-development between Latin America, the Caribbean, and China. This event, organized by the Universidad de Costa Rica, was held in a hybrid format on November 6 and 7 in Costa Rica. The forum aimed to analyze and discuss co-development between Latin America, the Caribbean, and China, addressing various topics related to trade, economy, culture, and diplomacy between these regions.
During the event, Associate Director Feliciano presented a paper on the company “Warmpaca”, which specializes in selling Peruvian alpaca accessories and dolls in the Chinese market. In his presentation, he analyzed the company’s marketing strategies, highlighting how its business model has been a success in recent years in the Chinese market. In addition to Feliciano’s presentation, the forum featured the participation of other international experts and academics, who shared their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing cooperation between Latin America, the Caribbean, and China. Topics discussed included market integration, technology transfer, and the promotion of cultural exchanges.
