CECHAP participates in the II China International Supply Chain Expo
On November 26, Omar Narrea, a researcher at the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies, participated in the II China International Supply Chain Expo. This event included a panel discussion organized by the Embassy of Peru in China on the country’s role in global supply chains and the potential for cooperation between Peru and China.
Narrea’s virtual presentation was titled “Presentation of Industrial Hubs Connected to the Chancay Port”. The discussion focused on short-term projects such as the creation of industrial parks and the use of digital technologies to optimize supply chains, as well as long-term initiatives like the construction of railway infrastructure. Crucial topics were also discussed, including the promotion of Peruvian agricultural exports, supported by trade agreements, tax benefits, and the sustainable management of forest resources. Narrea emphasized the critical role of the Chancay Port as a regional economic engine, connecting Asia and America as a key node in global value chains.
The event featured prominent speakers, including the Ambassador of Peru to China, Marco Balarezo, the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of Peru, Ángel Manero, and the Deputy Director of the China International Cooperation Research Center, Hou Xue, among others. This panel discussion was held as part of the II China International Supply Chain Expo and brought together experts from various fields to analyze the impact of trade and bilateral cooperation.
