International Symposium “The Transformation of the Chinese Economy: Four Decades of Reforms and Internationalization and What Comes Next?” was done successfully

On August 20th 2019, the International Symposium “The Transformation of the Chinese Economy: Four Decades of Reforms and Internationalization and What Comes Next?”, organized by the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies of Universidad del Pacífico, together with the School of Economics and the China Center for Economic Studies of Fudan University, a prestigious Chinese University located in Shanghai, was held. The symposium had the keynote address of one of the leading economists in China, Professor Zhang Jun, PhD, Dean of the School of Economics and Director of the aforementioned Center. Likewise, Kou Zonglai, PhD, Vice Dean of the same School, Deputy Director of the China Center for Economic Studies and Director of the Fudan Institute of Industrial Development explained his presentation. The results of four decades of economic reforms and openness in China, the growth prospects of that economy, the transformations that are glimpsed in the future and the experience of the special economic zones and the industrial and technological parks in that country were analyzed. Finally, prestigious economists from Universidad del Pacífico provided their comments and identified lessons learned and implications for Peru. State officials, diplomatic staff, representatives of business organizations and companies, delegates of embassies, international organizations and the peruvian academy, as well as members of the UP Community attended.
