Japan’s 21st century trade strategy and economic cooperation with Latin American countries

In order to understand the recent changes in Japan’s trade policy in face of the resurgence of global protectionism, the Center and the Embassy of Japan in Peru organized an international conference by professor Yorizume Watanabe from Keio University, Tokyo. The event took place on September 4th 2018 in our institutional headquarters. Among the topics addressed were those related to the future of international trade, including regional mega agreements, such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), as well as Japan’s trade policy with respect to Peru and Latin America. After professor Watanabe’s presentation, the comments were in charge of professor Oscar Malca, Associate Dean of Universidad del Pacífico’s International Business program.
