Local Consulting Council of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at UP is successfully launched
The launch meeting of the Center’s Local Consulting Council was held on June 28th 2019 at UP. The Council is comprised of distinguished specialists from the business, diplomatic and academic worlds. Its members are: Mr. Juan Carlos Capuñay, former Peruvian Ambassador to China and Japan and former Executive Director of the International Secretariat of APEC; Mr. Kong Aimin, President of the Association of Chinese Businesses in Peru; Mr. Jose Tam, President of the Chinese-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce (CAPECHI); Mrs. Yolanda Torriani, President of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL); Mr. Juan Varilias, Past President of the Peruvian Association of Exporters (ADEX) and President of the Peru-Korea Business Council; Dr. Gustavo Yamada, Director of Research at Universidad del Pacífico (CIUP); and Dr. Cynthia Sanborn, Vice Chancellor of Research at UP. At the meeting, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea made a presentation on the Center’s focus, results and outlook (April 2015-June 2019). The members of the Council congratulated the success achieved thus far and contributed valuable recommendations for the future. The Council’s meetings will be periodic and communication with the Center will be frequent to benefit and perfect the work underway; prioritize activities; disseminate research; and promote events, among others. It is important to note that the Council is an advisory body and its members have no institutional ties or responsibilities.
