More than 90 appearances in the national and international press during APEC 2024
In the context of the 2024 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Week and the inauguration of the Chancay Port, the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies (CECHAP) and its researchers made significant contributions in national and international media. Our researchers made over 90 appearances across news websites, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, newspapers, and even television. This recognition highlights CECHAP’s position as an APEC study center and our contribution to the global debate on key economic, political, and social issues.
During this period, our experts: Cynthia Sanborn, José Carlos Feliciano, Nifta Lau, Antonio José Pagán, Leolino Dourado, and Omar Narrea offered in-depth analysis and perspectives on topics such as the opportunities and challenges of the Chancay port, its impact on the local and international economy, the Peru-China relationship within the framework of this cooperation, the tensions between China and the United States, and the future of APEC economies.
Among the media outlets that have cited or interviewed our researchers are major national media such as El Comercio, Gestión, TV Perú y RPP Noticias. They also participated in prominent outlets across the continent, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post y CNN. Also, in European media such as: Le Monde, BBC y Deutsche Welle (DW) CECHAP’s experts participation also reached Asia, contributing to media outlets such as the South China Morning Post, Xinhua News Agency, Beijing Review, CGTN and Global Times.
