Professors Julio Aguirre and Omar Narrea participated in the “7th China-Latin America High-Level Academic Forum” held in Brazil representing the Center
This forum took place between September 19th and 22nd, 2018 in the city of Manaus in Brazil. This was a good opportunity for professors Julio Aguirre from the Department of Economics and Omar Narrea from the UP School of Public Management to establish academic and institutional relations with their peers from China, Brazil and other Latin American countries. Their presentations focused on the topic of interconnectivity, by Professor Narrea, and the challenges of infrastructure cooperation between China and Peru within the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, by Professor Aguirre. The Center has already been invited to the VIII Forum, to be held in October 2019 in the city of Fuzhou, China. It should be noted that this academic event is held annually, bringing Chinese and Latin American institutions together. The Center has been participating in this event since 2017.
