The Center organized a meeting between professors and experts at UP and representatives of CONCYTEC to discuss APEC topics
On June 20th, 2019, the Center received a visit from officials of the National Council of Science, Technology and Innovation (CONCYTEC), Mr. Henry Harman, Director of Policies and Programs and Rocio Casildo, Head of the Office for Technical Cooperation and International Affairs to discuss proposals from the Academy related to Science, Technology and Innovations in the framework of the election of Fabiola Leon-Velarde, President of CONCYTEC, as President of the Commission of Science, Technology and Innovation at the Policy Partnership for Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) of forum for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). The Center called on a group of professors and experts from UP to exchange ideas, proposals and experiences in this field with officials from CONCYTEC. Professor Michelle Rodriguez, Dean of the School of Engineering; Professor Alejandro Flores, Head of the Academic Department of Administration; Professor Jorge Heredia and Walter Heredia, of the Academic Department of Administration and Yboon Garcia, PhD in Mathematics from the Academic Department of Economics, participated in this event. Mr. Javier Salinas, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Emprende UP) and Mrs. Karin Fassbender, Head of Projects of the School of Public Management, also attended. The session was moderated by Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea, Director of the Center of China and Asia-Pacific Studies.
