Trip to Beijing through Renmin University project
As part of a collaborative project with the Renmin University of China in Beijing, Universidad del Pacífico (UP) professors Joanna Kamiche, Jacques Diderot, and Julio Aguirre as well as CECHAP deputy director José Carlos Feliciano travelled to China to take part in academic exchange and dialogue meetings with peers at the Chinese institution.
During this series of meetings, held between January 24 and 31, the two delegations explored opportunities for joint research initiatives on areas related to climate change and sustainable development, ultimately proposing three joint research projects on Forest Transition, Energy Transition, and Biodiversity Conservation from a comparative perspective between Peru and China.
The Peruvian visitors were received by Professor Liu Jinlong, director of the Center for Forest, Environmental, and Resources Policy Study at Renmin University, who, along with colleagues, also accompanied our delegation on visits to selected sites outside the university—including the Badaling Forest Experience Center, a local government complex located in the outskirts of Beijing and specializing in forest ecosystem conservation.
