Universidad del Pacifico and Indonesia’s BINUS University organize webinar
Last Tuesday, October 29th, the webinar “Indonesia Business Outlook: Industrial and Economic Opportunities” took place. This virtual event represents the first part of a series of conferences organized jointly by Binus Business School and Universidad del Pacifico. BINUS University is one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia and ranks 2nd in the country according to the Times Higher Education ranking. Ambassador Luis Tsuboyama, Ambassador of Peru to Indonesia, also participated in the webinar giving comments about the business opportunities between our countries.
During this first session, Dr. Ami Fitri Utami gave an overview of business and investment opportunities in Indonesia. Dr. Ami is currently the Director of the International Business Program at BINUS Business School. She earned her Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Indonesia and has successfully published in several reputable journals. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Ami oversaw several consulting projects at the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership at School of Business & Management (SBM) ITB. In the presentation, she discussed about Indonesia’s economic outlook, its industrial opportunities, risks and challenges for business in this country, cultural perspectives, and key points for foreign companies entering Indonesia.
Indonesia is the 5th largest economy in Asia and is Peru’s 9th largest trading economy in the region. Access to this market is even more important for Peru in the context of the Peru-Indonesia Trade Agreement negotiations. During INALAC-2024 in September, the INALAC Society Forum led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of the Pacific and Binus University of Indonesia. This webinar series represents the first inter-university collaboration following the signing of this agreement.
