Universidad del Pacífico signs Memorandum of Understanding with Binus University of Indonesia
CECHAP participated in the 6th Indonesia – Latin America and the Caribbean Business Forum (INALAC-2024) from wednesday September 11 to Friday september 13. This trade and investment forum held every year since 2019 by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) aims to facilitate trade and investment cooperation between Indonesian entrepreneurs and their partners in Latin America and the Caribbean. This edition held in Peru, the first outside Indonesia, was attended by businessmen from Indonesia and the region, strengthening networking and business ties.
During the third day of INALAC-2024, the celebration of the INALAC Society Forum led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Universidad del Pacífico and Binus University of Indonesia. Inter-university collaboration at the international level has become an priority for higher education institutions in Indonesia. Center Director Dr. Cynthia A. Sanborn participated in the ceremony as a representative of Universidad del Pacífico, while Dr. Ari Margiono represented Binus University.
Dr. Sanborn then moderated the panel “Empowering Youth, Bridging Partnership: Realizing Economic Development through Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Indonesia and Latin America and the Caribbean”. The objective of this panel was to showcase the contribution of youth to entrepreneurship and innovation, discuss the support they need, and explore ways to foster cross-regional collaboration between stakeholders in Indonesia and Latin American and Caribbean countries. The panel also featured young entrepreneurs from Indonesia and Chile, as well as academics from Peru and Indonesia.
Finally, INALAC Business Forum was also attended by students from Universidad del Pacífico. Coordinated by CECHAP, students from the UP community were able to participate as volunteers in this forum. Through this experience, they were able to broaden their perspective on trade relations between Indonesia and Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as develop valuable skills that will enable them to position themselves as leaders in the future.
