Webinar Empresarial TLC Perú-China, 10 años de progresos & beneficios
On December 15, 2020, the Peru-China Chamber of Commerce (CAPECHI) held a business webinar entitled Perú-China, 10 Años de Progresos & Beneficios (Peru-China FTA, 10 Years of Progress & Benefits), in which Dr. Santa Gadea was part of a panel of commentators along with Edgar Vasquez, former minister of foreign trade and tourism; Orlando Marchesi, senior country partner at PwC; and Álvaro Barrenechea, CAPECHI vice-president, who chaired. Peru’s minister of foreign trade and tourism, Claudia Cornejo, sent her greetings and explained the importance of exports to and imports from China, highlighting the growth of Chinese investment in Peru. The webinar focused on the benefits of the FLT and the progress made since its signing, while the ambassador of Peru in China, His Excellency Luis Quesada, and the ambassador of China in Peru, His Excellency Liang Yu, reported on the evolution of diplomatic and trade relations between Peru and China. Moreover, Dr. Santa Gadea noted that the transformation of the Chinese economy and its integration into the world constitutes an opportunity for Peru, and pointed out the lessons to be learned from China’s growing productivity, global participation, special economic zones, and relocation of production to other Asia–Pacific countries.
