Ambassador of Peru to the People’s Republic of China receives in Beijing the Director of the Center and academics from IWEP-CASS
At the invitation of the Ambassador of Peru to the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr. Luis Quesada, and in the framework of the sixth academic mission made to this country, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea and Doctor Zhang Yuyan, Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP-CASS), attended a meeting at the Ambassador’s residence in Beijing on October 22, 2019. Officials from the Embassy and other experts from IWEP-CASS were also in attendance. The Ambassador was informed about the progress made on the book that is being jointly prepared by the Center and IWEP-CASS on Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru. More than 20 Peruvian and Chinese academics are participating in the development of this book, which is expected to be published in 2021, the year that marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between Peru and the People’s Republic of China. In this framework, it is planned to hold events to launch the book in China and Peru. Both Directors invited the Ambassador to inaugurate this event in Beijing. Dr. Santa Gadea also provided information on the scope of the sixth academic mission to China and her participation in the V Forum of Think Tanks between China and Latin America and the Caribbean (Beijing, October 28-29, 2019).
