Challenges of Climate Change in China and Impacts on Global Governance
On April 27, 2021, Professor Mónica Núñez took part in the webinar “Challenges of Climate Change in China and Impacts on Global Governance” organized by the Brazil–China Study Group at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in São Paulo, Brazil, giving a presentation entitled “Sustainability of Chinese Investments in Latin America.” The event revolved around the challenges that climate change, with its ever-quickening pace, poses to contemporary China, while also exploring possible impacts on other governments around the world as well as potential solutions. In her presentation, Professor Núñez reviewed the characteristics of Chinese investment abroad, the importance of cultural understanding in preventing conflicts, the weighttof public companies in Chinese investment, Chinese principles on foreign relations, and how these areas provide a theoretical framework to analyze cases in Peru. Niklas Werner and Leila da Costa Ferreira, professors at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at UNICAMP, also participated.
