China and Asia-Pacific in globalization: trends and challenges
The UP Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies, the Diplomatic Academy of Peru and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) joined efforts to hold a forum for the analysis of the challenges of globalization, the growing role of China in the world economy and politics and the dynamism of the Asia-Pacific area. The event took place on September 20th, 2018. The addressed issues were Chinese diplomacy and foreign policy at present, its relationship with Latin America, focused on the “The Belt and Road” Initiative, and the APEC perspectives post 2020. After the forum, the president of SIIS, accompanied by his delegation, had a meeting with the President of Universidad del Pacífico, Dr. Elsa Del Castillo, to examine possibilities for deepening inter-institutional collaboration in the future.
