Director of the Center participates in the 4th International Conference of the Regional Dialogue of the Association for Research between East Asia and Latin America
On Monday, June 12, the director of the Center, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea, participated in the 4th International Conference on East Asia–Latin America Regional Research Partnership Dialogue, held in Wuhan, China and co-organized by Hubei University, the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the National Global Strategic Think Tank at CASS.
Dr. Santa Gadea have a presentation during the session entitled “Exchange of Experiences on Modernization and Development,” summarizing the contents and results of the research published in the book En Búsqueda de un Camino Para Evitar la Trampa del Ingreso Medio: los Lasos de China y Perú, which she co-edited with Dr. Zhang Yuyan, director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) at CASS.
During her presentation, Dr. Santa Gadea referred to the ultimate objective of the research: to contribute to mutual understanding and promote reciprocal learning about development. The director adrew comparisons between the economies of Peru and China, and their growth over the years.
The book has already been published in the English language, and the Spanish-language version will be launched this July
