Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea, director of the center, presents “Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle-Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru” at the Lima FIL 2023
On Thursday July 27, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea presented the book Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle-Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru at the César Vallejo Auditorium during the Lima International Book Fair 2023.
Also present at the presentation were Carlos Parodi, principal professor in the Academic Department of Economics; Luis Quesada, former ambassador of Peru to the People’s Republic of China; and Diego Macera, director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.
This book presents economic comparisons between Peru and China over the years, and features the analysis of 22 authors. Some of its most salient focuses include the industrialization of China, the economic reforms that have been carried out in Peru, and the challenge of an economic development that encompasses growth and the well-being of the population. Finally, the reader is urged to learn about the experiences of other countries: not just the success stories but also the setbacks they experienced following long-term planning.
Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle-Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru edited by Dr. Santa Gadea and Professor Zhang Yuyan, can be purchased at the SBS bookstore in Peru.
