ILAS-CASS visits the UP Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies
On Thursday, November 23, 2023, the center received a delegation from the Latin American Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (ILAS-CASS), made up of Yue Yunxia, director of Department of Economics at ILAS-CASS; Zhou Zhiwei, director of the International Relations Department; Fang Xufei, associate professor of Latin American Politics; and Han Han, associate professor of Latin American Integration.
ILAS-CASS is China’s largest specialist research institution on Latin American affairs. It is composed of six departments: Economy, Marxist Theory and Politics, International Relations, Social and Cultural Studies, Development and Strategy, and Latin American Regional Cooperation.
The institute organizes and participates in international academic symposiums and sends researchers abroad, in addition to producing important publications—including the bimonthly Journal of Latin American Studies, the only dedicated Latin American studies journal in China.
