International Conference in Cusco about the Chinese Economy was organized by the Center

On November 27th, 2019, the International Conference entitled “Chinese Economy: Evolution and Perspectives” was organized in the city of Cusco, organized by the Centre for Studies on China and Asia-Pacific of the Universidad del Pacífico, the Universidad Andina del Cusco and the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP-CASS). The speakers were the professors from IWEP-CASS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE). The opening remarks were given by the President of the Universidad Andina del Cusco, Dr. Emeterio Mendoza, followed by Dr. Di Yanira Bravo, Research Vice-President of said university and Dr. Xu Qiyuan, Director of the Economic Development Division from IWEP-CASS. On the part of the Center, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea introduced the Chinese teachers and emphasized the importance of this decentralized activity in Peru. These presentations gave the students of Universidad Andina del Cusco a perspective of the Chinese Economy with an emphasis on globalization and urbanization (professor Lu Ming from SJTU), the role of infrastructure in economic development (professor Huang Meibo of SUIBE) and the impact of technology and innovation on China’s economic transition (Professor Song Jin of IWEP-CASS).
