International Workshop “Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru”

On November 25th and 26th, 2019, the International Workshop “Finding a Way to Avoid the Middle Income Trap: The Cases of China and Peru” was held at Universidad del Pacífico. This workshop was an intermediate stage in the joint research by peruvian and chinese researchers, in which the drafts of the chapters of a book in process that addresses very relevant topics of economic development in both countries were discussed. Our Center and the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP-CASS) conduct this research in which participate 13 academics from Universidad del Pacífico and 9 from China including scholars from IWEP-CASS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and Xiamen University. The book will be published in English, Chinese and Spanish. The workshop was opened by the Vice President for Research, Dr. Arlette Beltrán, and conducted by the Director of the Center, Dr. Rosario Santa Gadea, and the Deputy Director of IWEP-CASS, Dr. Yao Zhizhong.
