Contemporary China: Society, Politics, and International Relations (2022-2)

This workshop contributes to the development of research skills through the critical reading of various theories and arguments on the relations between China and Latin America, and the preparation of case study proposals in the fields of Economics, Politics or Business. To this end, it aims to guide students in the critical analysis of these debates and in the elaboration of their own research proposal within the general framework of these relations.

Hanyu Club

The UP Chinese Language and Culture Club (Hanyu Club UP) is a student organization  focused on promoting and sharing topics related to China with the university community. This ranges from language (Mandarin Chinese) to aspects of culture, economy, and entertainment. The club was created with the idea of being a place for UP students to share common interests related to China, as well as a conversation club.

History of International Relations between China and Latin America and the Caribbean (2022-1)

The course seeks to address various issues—historical, migratory, commercial, diplomatic—around bilateral relations between China and Latin America with special emphasis on the Peruvian case. The objective is for students to acquire the knowledge they need to historically interpret the current role of China on the Latin American stage. At the end of the course, students will demonstrate their analytical and critical capacity regarding the literature and will be able to recognize the main aspects of relations between China and Latin America.
